March, 16, 2003, firefighters rushed to the Leonard home as heavy smoke was streaming out the windows. It took them only minutes to put the fire out. The flames had not even reached the upstairs where someone had poured gasoline. When firefighters extinguished the blaze, they found Thomas (Tommy) Leonard body on the kitchen floor on an upper level. He had been stabbed many times. Investigation revealed there was evidence someone had been searching for something in the basement. But oddly, it didn’t appear anything was taken from the home.
